It really depends on where about you are. I can say there are some great places in new york. I've been up to the Adirondacks and they are truly beautiful. Lots of lakes, good views and a lot of hiking trails of all ranges of experience make it a great place to go.
Also, I know of a place in Victor, New york called Boughton park, nice easy trails, the place used to be a reservoir so it's got some nice ponds too. Been a while since I've been there and it is owned by a small town, so i don't know how well it's kept up.
i've always wanted to go out for a day on a hike. yet, i only know some of the equipment i need to bring and have no idea of any good places to hike.
i realize i could maybe look at websites with good areas or read about places in a magazine, but i was wondering if anyone on here would have suggestions before i do that?
