Hey everyone, as Outdoors (our site's mascot) noted in our forums, the blogs were being renovated. So what's going on with them? Well, we sat down and decided that there were some problems with the blogs.

1. they looked boring.
2. anonymous people could not post replies.

Though we encourage people to sign up, we don't think they should have to to simply post a comment on a friend's blog. With out becoming too technical, anonymous users can now comment on blog posts. They cannot, however, take place in the other user driven portions of the site. So they can no longer post in the forums (there have been a few posts, and I've decided to keep them in there), they cannot create hot spots for our hot spots map, and they cannot maintain their own blog.

You can now also upload pictures to your blogs, so post away, i wanna see those great pictures you guys have! (remember, they must adhere to our Terms of Service)

As for point #1, we also gave the blogs a slight face lift. As you can see by this post, the blog posts now show your user avatar in the top left hand corner. If you don't have a user avatar, a standard one will be supplied (right now it's the logo, but we are working on changing that as well.). User logos maybe uploaded by going to my account -> edit, there you will find a section for a picture, pictures must be 150x150 pixels and the maximum size is 100 kB.
