It all began three years ago when this buck showed up on my camera he had great potential as a 3 year old our paths crossed once in that year the next year i got one pic. of him in velvet and he was a real good looking deer he showed up again on the cams. after he shed his velvet then he became a regular on the camera daily mostly in the day time except when i was in my stand then he dsapeared for a week or so and then one day he showed up just before gun season and he was skinny his ribs were hanging out and was all around sickly looking i noticed in one of his pics. he had been shot and wounded just above the sholder blades he had a bloddy spot in him were he was licking his would you could actually see the hole in him i thaught for sure he was going to die although he was feeding by my cam. almost non stop then he disapeared i didnt see him for about 2 weeks i thaught for sure he was dead and decided after gun season we would try to find him and guess what he showed up about a week after the gun season he had filled out and looked in good shape are paths crossed once that year too and i let him walk and was regreting it this fall when i could'nt find him anywere he was the years before i was doing some scouting in late Oct. when i found some masive rubs and alot of them in one area i had found his bedroom it was so hard to not search any further but i restrained myself i set up a cam. in hopes of catching him comeing out of his bedroom 19 days and nothing on the 20th day i got one pic. at 1:45 am i was hopeing he would give me some day time pics. but no more pics. untill 10 days latter still after hours but earlier he was there at 6:37 pm he left me with 3 pics. this time no more pics. untill 10 days latter but this time they were at 3:34 pm plenty of day light this time i now had a pattern he was only showing up every 10 days he must have a big circle he was covering so i got my calender out and marked out the days he would be in my area he stayed on his 10 day cycle like clock work untill the rut he was then gone for 20 days untill he showed up at 1:40 am i was sure glad to see he had made it through the gun season 10 days latter he showed up on another cam. i had set up for late season bow hunting near a thick green tree bedding area and when he showed up this time we had 18 plus inches of snow on the ground and it was 2:50 pm and lots of day light i checked my cam. early the next morning and found out he was there the day before i thaught i had missed my chance again as he never showed up 2 days in a row. it was snowing the night before and left 6 inches of fresh snow and it was still snowing all day i had to get out there i got out there at 1:30 Pm at 2:10 pm i looked to my right and seen a deer standing there through the branches on my tree i figured it was a doe as they were always the first ones to come through untill it turned its head to look behind him thats when i seen his antlers and said to myself holy crap thats him of corse at that point i began to shake as i calmed myself down and tryed to figure out when i would stand up and get ready a doe came under my stand and walked past me then he started to follow her and when he started to move i stood up and got ready he came to an opening and stoped but was faceing me at 20 yards for about a min. then spooked ran off about 15 yards and stood there for 15 min. or more then the doe started to move again and he followed this time when he hit the opening at 20 yards he turned and walked away from me and turned quarting away at 30 yards when i went to draw they boath looked in my direction for a splt second and turned and looked away i drew and picked my spot and released the arrow with my pink and white fletchings for breast cancer awareness he then ran off as i watched him go through the timber he disapeared into some thick green trees looked at my watch it was 2:50 pm i waited awile and climbed down to check out the shot when i got to wrere i shot him there was blood sprayed all over the snow i left and headed home to get some help we returned at 4:30 to track when i picked up the track there was no blood trail it was covered with snow but as i gently brushed the to of the snow i was able to find the trail he left once he seperated himself from the other deer tracks and whent off on his own it was easier tracking when i came to the green trees and waited for my helper to catch up i seen him laying abuot 15 yards in just over a blow down tree he whent about a hundrerd yards we walked in together in amazement ond thanked God for allowing me to take such a magnifacent animal as this. then the pics. began when i look back at the history the two of us shared through the years and this year as the rest only a once a year meeting between us this time i was sucsessfull and i thank God for makeing it all come together.
